MULTI-FUNCTIONAL BIPOLAR CAUTERY
INSTRUMENT SYSTEM FOR MINIMALLY-INVASIVE, ENDOSCOPIC, AND MULTI-PORT SURGERY
Endoscopic minimally-invasive surgery is a rapidly advancing surgical discipline permeating every surgical subspecialty. Minimally-invasive surgery relies on customized instrumentation to achieve improved outcomes compared to traditional open-field surgery.
Bipolar cautery is an important component of surgical technique that has to date not been effectively translated to minimally invasive surgery. Surgical efficiency (i.e. minimization of wasted surgical movements), reduction of OR time and complications such as infections and tissue injury are major focuses of minimally invasive surgical techniques.
Potential Markets
Any traditional or multi-port surgery (laparoscopy, thoracoscopy, arthroscopy, etc.)
Minimally invasive endoscopic neurosurgery and ENT (skull base, intraventricular neuro-endoscopy)
